CARRIE SANDERS was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. At age nineteen Carrie was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease; she is now a twenty-year cancer survivor. At twenty, Carrie began working as a receptionist in a medical office, the beginnings of a career in the medical field. At twenty-three, she returned to school at the University of Washington, where she received her bachelor’s degree. She received her master’s degree in counseling from Seattle University.
Now a licensed psychotherapist in private practice, Carrie counsels clients with numerous issues and specializes in treating clients impacted by cancer. Carrie plans to write several more books that address the needs of people diagnosed with various types of cancer. Carrie and her husband live in Seattle with their daughter Sabrina, their two dogs and cat.
